Job Requirements
The Application System Analyst Level III - Phoenix is a technical and operational specialist responsible for assisting the team leader in directing, coordinating, and executing Transplant user support, optimization requests and the application maintenance configuration required by Epic. This role requires advanced analytical skills, deep knowledge of Epic systems, and the ability to collaborate across clinical, operational, and IT teams to deliver high-quality healthcare technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Epic Phoenix application analyst works in collaboration with the Outpatient Implementation team to build, test, and provide go-live support of UMMS Transplant departments. By working with the Outpatient implementation team the analyst ensures that configurations meet clinical and operational requirements.
- Workflow Analysis & Optimization: Analyze existing clinical workflows, identify areas for improvement in the process of building Transplant departments, design future-state processes in collaboration with clinical informatics and clinical stakeholders to maximize Epic system efficiency and user satisfaction.
- Requirements Gathering: Facilitate meetings with end-users and subject matter experts to collect and document business requirements, translating them into functional and technical specifications for Epic system build.
- System Configuration & Build: Perform advanced build tasks within Epic, including configuring orders, documentation tools, and decision support, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and best practices.
- Testing & Validation: Develop and execute detailed test plans, scripts, and scenarios to validate system functionality, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolution prior to system deployment.
- Training & Support: Provide implementation support to Transplant end-users at go-live.
- Project Leadership & Coordination: Serve as a project lead or subject matter expert on projects that involve the Phoenix application. Duties would include coordinating activities across teams, tracking project milestones, and reporting progress to leadership.
- Issue Resolution & Maintenance: Monitor the success of optimization requests after migration of buil;d to production, investigate reported issues, and implement solutions to maintain optimal system operation and user experience.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of system build, configuration changes, and workflow decisions. Prepare regular status reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure all system changes and workflows comply with regulatory requirements, institutional policies, and Epic best practices.
Qualifications- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- EpicCare Ambulatory certification.
- Epic Phoenix certification.
- Minimum of 35 years of experience in Epic system analysis, build, and implementation, with a focus on outpatient workflows in a variety of specialties.
- Proven experience with clinical workflow analysis, requirements gathering, and system configuration.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with clinical informatics and technical teams.
